Feed Sacks: The Fabric That Helped Build America

SACKS ARE PURE AMERICANA…

Made for America and various other countries to export, they feel like the American dream in good times and bad. A ten pound flour sack meant 8-12 loaves of bread or 150 biscuits and even a child’s dress and a pair of undies. Seeing a sack in the kitchen meant you were able to eat and was a symbol of hope in America’s depression.
To save them, see them, work with them and make them useful again is something we will never tire of. Thankful to those who tucked them away and saved all what they did.
